Inglaterra consigue la victoria 2-1 ante Países Bajos y son la segunda selección invitada a la gran final de la Eurocopa 2024. España esperaba a alguna de las dos selecciones que se enfrentaron hoy e Inglaterra consiguió darle vuelta al partido para medirse a ‘La Roja’ en la gran final el próximo 14 de julio.
Todo inició muy temprano en el partido cuando Xavi Simmons robó el balón en campo rival, condujo hasta los linderos del área y sacó un disparo potente de pierna derecha que Pickford no pudo detener por la fuerza que llevaba, y consiguió abrir el marcador al minuto 7’ de juego.
La respuesta inglesa no tardó en llegar, al minuto 18’ un balón dentro del área de Países Bajos que Harry Kane remató ayudó para que Denzel Dumfries llegará tarde a la jugada y pateara al delantero del Bayern Múnich, después de la revisión en el VAR el árbitro Félix Zwayer marcó la pena máxima, el ‘Hurricane’ fue el encargado de patear desde los once pasos y puso tablas el marcador.
En la parte complementaria la balanza estuvo muy pareja para ambas escuadras, aunque por momentos se inclinaba ligeramente para los de Southgate. La jugada de mayor peligro fue para Inglaterra, cuando Kyle Walker llegó a línea de fondo y puso un centro raso para que llegará Bukayo Saka, quien mandó el balón al fondo de la red desafortunadamente el VAR lo anuló por fuera de lugar de Walker.
Ambas escuadras siguieron buscando el tanto del encuentro, pero la suerte fue para los ‘Three Lions’ que al minuto 90’ Cole Palmer, tomó el balón en el medio campo y dio un pase entre líneas para Ollie Watkins quien entró al área y sacó un disparo de media vuelta para vencer el arco defendido por Bart Verbruggen.
La mitad del Signal Iduna Park quedó en silencio mientras que la otra mitad festejaba en todo lo alto el gol que le dio el pase a la selección de Inglaterra llegó a la gran final. El equipo de Gareth Southgate llega a su segunda final de Eurocopa consecutiva, esta vez buscarán que la historia sea diferente y puedan proclamarse campeones del torneo continental por primera vez en su historia.
El próximo domingo 14 de julio de 2024 será la gran final entre España e Inglaterra, desde el estadio Olímpico de Berlín, los españoles buscarán la cuarta mientras que los ingleses lucharán por la primera.
