No hubo un milagro sobre el Sena en los Juegos Olímpicos del sábado, ya que la selección masculina de baloncesto de Estados Unidos cumplió con lo esperado al imponerse por 98-87 a Francia y conquistar su quinta medalla de oro consecutiva.
Con el foco del deporte francés puesto en el Bercy Arena, los estadounidenses aplastaron los corazones galos liderados por un encendido LeBron James, “The King”, que usaba unas relucientes zapatillas doradas para la ocasión.
El resultado fue el mismo que hace tres años, en el partido por la medalla de oro de los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio, pero para los franceses esta derrota fue un poco más dolorosa al producirse en casa y ante una nación cautivada.
Francia tendrá otra oportunidad de alcanzar la gloria el domingo, pero el equipo femenino será aún más débil frente a las poderosas estadounidenses, que no han perdido en los Juegos Olímpicos desde 1992 y persiguen su octavo oro consecutivo.
